ENROLMENT POLICY & INFORMATION   In 2010 St Thomas’s Riverview Kindergarten will offer a 3-day and a 2-day pre-prep program for children with attendance days and times being as follows:   2010 pre-prep (3-day group)               2010 pre-prep (2-day group) (3 ½ - 4 ½ years)                                 (3 ½ - 4 ½ years) Monday to Wednesday                       Thursday and Friday 9.00am to 2.30pm                               9.00am to 2.30pm     Both groups will comprise a maximum of 22 children and the staff ratio will be 2 qualified staff to 22 children.   Children enrolled at St Thomas’s are primarily children who are likely to be commencing the Prep year of education in the following year, with places only being offered for younger children if enrolments allow.   In 2010 and beyond priority will be afforded to those children who are “pre-pre” age, ie. 3 ½ - 4 ½ years at the commencement of the year.  Such children must turn 4 by June 30 to be eligible for Prep in the following year. (It is a requirement of Education Queensland that children must have their 5th birthday by June 30 of the year they attend Prep schooling).   Children between the ages of 3 – 3 ½ at the commencement of the year will be offered a place if there are no “pre-prep” children remaining on the waiting list.  These children will have the delight of 2 years at St Thomas’s.   The 3-day group generally comprises the “older” children, all of whom will be in their pre-prep year.  The 2-day group will comprise both children in their pre-prep year and younger children, as enrolments allow.   The enrolment policy reflects Educations Queensland’s changes to early childhood education associated with the introduction of the “Prep year” of schooling in 2007.  Useful Websites   C&K                             www.candk.asn.au (see “pre-prep”) Education Queensland   http://education.qld.gov.au/etrf/prep.html   Fees 2008   3 day group                   $600 per term 2 day group                   $400 per term   Additional Costs   Enrolment Administration Fee - $50 Association Fee  - $20 per annum (incl GST) Building Fund Donation (Tax deductible) - $100 (payable second term) Father Roster Levy - $50 Mother Roster Levy - $50   Note: The Father and Mother Roster levies are refunded if all rosters for the year have been completed.   Waiting List Enrolment Form   If your child meets the age criteria and you wish to put their name down on the waiting list, please complete and return a “Waiting List Enrolment Form” together with a Waiting List Fee of $20
